Leeds International Festival of ideas

We exhibited 37 portraits from the Projecting Grief collection as part of LIFI in 2023. The exhibition took place in high-end shopping precinct Victoria Gate in Leeds before moving to Leeds Playhouse ahead of a panel event featuring Prue Leith, Will Young and other guests. We also facilitated a series of creative workshops and a spoken word poetry event.

PG sitters Freya Bromley, Hayley Mills-Styles and Moni Escobar delivered stunning creative writing, embroidery and paper flower-making workshops. All workshops took place in the exhibition space in Victoria Gate.

Feedback was phenomenal: “Beautiful, bittersweet and wholly absorbing”; “Made me feel less alone”; “No small talk, just big talk.”

PG sitter Rohan closed our exhibition in Victoria with a rousing spoken word performance. Cake, beer and poetry - a perfect Sunday.

We moved the exhibition to Leeds Playhouse to coincide with the Grief Panel event. The portraits remained in situ for the week and found a whole new audience outside of Victoria.
